Darcy H. Lee, Principal & CEO Darcy H. Lee, Principal & CEO of Alden Charles Associates, has more than 20 years experience in nonprofit management, event planning and government service, the last 12 of which have been dedicated exclusively to fundraising. As Chief Development Officer for the Center for Women & Enterprise, Lee managed a team of professionals and volunteers who raised more than $1.7 million annually for services in Boston and Worcester, Massachusetts, and Providence, Rhode Island. As Campaign and Development Director at Pilgrim Hall Museum, Lee successfully directed the museum’s $3.4 million capital campaign over goal, ultimately raising more than $4 million overall. She was the Development Director at Orchard House, and served as Director of the Clark Fund at Clark University. While at Clark, Lee directed a $2.1 million annual fundraising program and developed and implemented strategies to increase giving to the University from a worldwide constituency. Lee began her career as a staff member in the archives of the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum in Boston, and later served on the staff of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation. While at the JFK Library Foundation, Lee was part of the team that produced Distinguished Foreign Visitor Events, the Profile in Courage Award, and the 1993 Re-Dedication of the Museum. She also served as Press Aide for U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Lee is a member of many professional organizations, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network, the New England Museum Association, the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce and Women in Development. She was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow from Rotary International, is Vice President of the Rotary Club of Plymouth, is an active community member where she resides in Plymouth, Massachusetts, is a Director of the Plymouth Antiquarian Society, serves on the Development Committee of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, co-chairs the White Cliffs Ladies Golf League Marketing Committee, and is a frequent guest speaker at conferences and seminars throughout North America.
Lee is a featured keynote and seminar speaker for San Francisco Bay-area based MVP Seminars, and is a trainer and major gift specialist for Majordonors.com.She has completed coursework toward her Masters Degree from Clark University, and has a B.A. from Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. She is also an instructor at Upper Cape Regional Technical School Continuing Education Program, teaching courses in nonprofit management and personal enrichment.An author, Lee recently published The Fantastic, Fabulous, Funny and Factual Follies of a Facebook Friend (Infinity Publishing, 2010). Her hobbies include golf, reading and keeping abreast of local, national and international current events.
